Agent Receives Sound Notification But Unable To See Chat

The agent is on AQD and hears the sound notification that a chat is assigned or transferred. There is no pop-up window when the chat assignment is done and agent does not see the chat. The report shows the assigned chat has expired. Why is this happening?
