Associated Product Pricing rules are an out of-the-box type of pricing rule that allows administrators to create relationships between products ensuring that anytime a specific product is added to a quote one or more associated products are also added automatically.  This is a useful tool to make certain promotional or required products like installation fees, cables, and bundled items are not omitted from a quote. Automatically added associated products can also be discounted when sold together with the original product.

When creating associated product pricing rules, you create a separate rule for each product you want to add automatically.

Each rule specifies a base product and an associated product. When the base product is added to a quote it triggers the associated product rule which automatically adds the associated product.

For each pricing rule you must choose between three different discount types.

Discount Type

Discounts the list price of the associated product by a percentage. This is the only type of supported discount for multicurrency organizations.

Discounts the list price of the associated product by a fixed currency amount.

Discards the list price of the associated product and replaces it with a currency amount.
