Live Help Chat Groups In Webcare: Does changing groups change the link code?

I am looking to breakout the chat groups so that the links are grouped more logically and not so many feeding into one department. If I go into individual links and change the group name and/or move to a different department, will this change the link code? I do not want to have to involve my IT team to change the code on individual webpages.
