Goal

The goal is to associate a picklist to a field (contact, account or campaign) so that it is populated with consistent data of your choosing, as opposed to an open text field.

For example, a country value could be entered in multiple ways (e.g. US, U.S., USA, U.S.A., United States, United States of America) rather than in one standard way.
