How to create a Table Based Recommended Item Rule (Doc ID 1660216.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 26, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle BigMachines CPQ Cloud Service - Version 12.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle CPQ provides a point-and-click editor to define recommendation item rules that access data tables, without using BMQL.  This is accomplished by allowing the administrator to:

  1. Reduce BML scripting by accessing table data with a point-and-click editor.
  2. Map attributes and table columns to properties in Recommended Items UI
  3. Return attributes values, table data and some parts data for recommended items.

In addition, there is a query debugger to help you test the results. Table based rules fire on the user-side when the rule condition is met.  However, if no results are returned from the query then there is no impact on the action attributes for recommended item rules.
