CPQ Cloud provides a point-and-click editor to define recommendation and constraint rules that access Data Tables, without resorting to BMQL. Table-based rules enable:
  • Ability to return attribute values along with table data
  • Query Debugger
  • Point and Click UI for BMQL

Table-based rules fire on the user side when the condition is met. However, if no results are returned from the query then there is no impact on the action attributes. When multiple rows are returned for an action attribute, all returned values are recommended or constrained.

In this example, we will be writing a table-based recommended item rule using the table below.  In this scenario, we are going to return parts based on selections made within an array.

  • The first three columns (Size, Type and Nuts) are attributes.
  • The quantity column is of integer data type.
  • The PartNumber and Description columns correspond with the Item Master.
