An Application Error Occurs When Navigating Through Fusion HCM Application (Doc ID 1674551.1)

Symptoms

A user is getting an error when attempting to perform any function in the application.

For example, when trying to search for an employee in Person Management the following occurs:

An application error occurred. Your help desk can use the following information to obtain a more detailed description of this incident: 5721,
Server Domain, Server Instance: Core ProcessesServer_1, Application Name: HcmCoreApp.

The same error appears in Self Service (ESS) application as well.
The problem affects only 1 new user.


ERROR

An application error occurred. Your help desk can use the following information to obtain a more detailed description of this incident: 5637, Server Domain, Server Instance: Core ProcessesServer_1, Application Name: HcmCoreApp.

The CoreProcessesServer diagnostic log shows the following error:

[ORA-00907][oracle.jbo.server.QueryCollection.buildResultSet][HcmCoreApp]]

The related incident log shows:

Caused by: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.
...
Caused by: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis




STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. In Person Management perform a search and the error appears.
Navigator > Person Management > Search

2. In Employee Self Service (ESS) the error appears when trying to access any function, like clicking on the Directory icon.
