Goal

Conditionally required fields are considered as always required and File import is failing

As per the requirement, trying to import opportunities into OSC using File Import option. File Import is failing with required fields error even though fields are not always required.

Have three custom fields created on the opportunity object. They are 1) Rig Delivery 2) Rig Type 3) Construction Location. All These three fields are conditionally required and here is the conditional required logic:

if(NOV_OpportunityType_c == 'NOV_NBOFFSHORE')
{
  return(true);
}
else
  return(false);

the file that was used to import the opportunity, in which opportunity type is not "NOV_NBOFFSHORE" and other three fields are holding blank value. but stills system is throwing an error saying all three fields are required.

You must provide a value for the attribute NOV_RigDelivery_c.
You must provide a value for the attribute NOV_ConstructionLocation_c.
You must provide a value for the attribute NOV_RigType_c.

Please let us know why System is throwing required field error when it is not really required.
