Office details are not editable through Person Gallery. There is a requirement to allow employees to amend/edit specific elements of the office data, being the Floor and Room within a specific location.
Currently only the HR Specialists and Line Managers can do this through Person management:manage Employment. This affords the ability to amend all attributes of the office details, including: Building, Floor, Office Number and Mail Stop. We understand that:- Location details can be maintained by the HR Specialist (through Manage Employment) and by the Line Manager (through guided flows like Change Location). Allowing the employee to update their own assignment with the location details is not a typical use case. And agree that an employee should NOT be able to change office name or address. That this information is updated by HR Specialists or Line Managers.
The justification for this is there is often situations where Employee moves from one room to another or between floors within the same location. These fields (floor, room) should be accessible for Employee to update. The Location does not Change (the same building, the same address remains) but only floor and room change so this part should be updated by Employee.
