Unable To Import Appointments With Description Length Higher Than 4000 Characters (Doc ID 1925288.1)

Symptoms

When trying to import appointments with description length higher than 4000 chars, the following error occurs:

MKT-285235, MKT-285230
"An error occurred during the data import. (MKT-285235) Details: This error occurred while importing data: The length of the attribute ActivityDesc value must be less than 4,000 characters. (MKT-285230) Cause: The user provided a value that exceeds the maximum length of the target attribute. Action: The value must be truncated so that it does not exceed the maximum length. for ActivityDesc."



STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Manage File Import Activities
2. Create a new import and select object Appointment;
3. Select a csv with appointment description > 4000 chars;
4. Create the mapping;
5. Submit the import.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
For importing the Appointment data, inside the legacy system the appointment description size more than 30000 chars, where as in Sales Cloud the maximum size allowed is 4000 chars.
