How To Update Permission Sets After Upgrade (Doc ID 1938864.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle BigMachines Express CPQ Cloud Service for - Version Spring 16 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Each upgrade to Oracle Express CPQ will add new components and metadata to the packages. Immediately following an upgrade, administrators must ensure that access is granted to these new components or users will see Insufficient Privileges errors. This process will differ slightly depending on which method you choose to grant access.

If you use the packaged permission sets, typically there will be no post-upgrade action required for the Basic, Configuration, Pricing and Renewalsmodules.

For upgrades to the Quoting module, we highly recommend the usage of the Permission Set builder as described in How to use the Permission Set Builder for Quoting. Those with this update can create or update permission sets by clicking a single button.  This Update will make administration of Quoting Permission Sets quicker and simpler.

Without the Permission Set Builder for Quoting, administrators will need to update the custom permission sets associated with that package, manually.  If custom permission sets are used for any other modules, those also must be updated.
