We've imported approximately 69,000 transactions with the wrong transaction type, using the display name instead of the lookup code (e.g. Revenue instead of REVENUE). We're currently re-importing the transaction data with the correct types. However, we'd like to know if there's a way to get rid of the incorrect transactions.
Docs 1683444.1 and 1553343.1 suggest correcting or re-importing the affected transactions to fix collection errors. However it's impossible to change the transaction type of an existing transaction in the application, and re-importing them will only create new transactions because it's keyed off the combination of transaction type and transaction number. So we'll end up with two copies of all our transactions, the valid one and one that will sit there in Collection Error status forever. Is there any way we can purge the invalid records so that we only have the correct ones to worry about?
