Problem Of Leads Assignment From Outlook

In Outlook the on the Leads creation page, there is no owner field only the Sales Team field.
1. Is there a way that outlook can be extended so that the Sales Team field is left blank when users start a new leads ?
2. Customer is using the Sales Team field because the Owner field is not available in Outlook - is the owner field likely to be added to Lead creation in Outlook?
