For Accounts and Opportunities, the results and parameters for both searches are different. For example, search accounts from the main menu allows to use the character "%". However, the character is not valid when searching an account from an opportunity. Here its required to write the first three letters of the account name.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. SUI > Accounts
2. From Accounts summary/overview page, click Search icon
3. In the search text field, you can utilize "%" during searches.
1. SUI > Create Opportunity
2. Click the Search and Select icon for Customer field
3. Name field > Required to enter first three letters of the name. Unable to use the "%".
