Once a Custom Pricing Rule Type has been created the administrator must create Pricing Rules for it to have effect. Pricing rules are possible values for each of the fields that have been defined as conditions. When the fields from the quote match the values set in the product rule the rule will be triggered and the discount will be applied.

Administrators can create rules which evaluate dates, picklist values, text, numbers, currencies or checkbox values. In addition to setting the criteria for the rule, pricing rules also dictate how the product(s) are discounted or priced.

For each pricing rule you must choose between three different discount types:

 Discount Type

Discounts the list price of the product by a percentage. This is the only type of supported discount for multicurrency organizations.

Discounts the list price of the product by a fixed currency amount.

Discards the list price of the product and replaces it with a currency amount.
