Search Page Refresh Not Happening

Search Page refresh not happening
Created a custom object "Project" and have opportunity as its subtab. When ever try adding opportunity to the custom object, as per the trigger condition it throws error message.
The trigger condition is that if user selects opportunity and if opportunity's account does not match with project's account, error should be thrown.
Now in opportunity search page, if user selects opportunity of different account first as usual it throws error message
and after that even if he deselects that opportunity and tries adding opportunity of same account as of project, still error is thrown.
Search page should be refreshed as soon as user deselects what he selects, this is not happening.
