Request is to automatically populate the 'XXX' field in the creation page.
Regarding your proposition to get the described behaviour above, we have already tried to implement this workaround...without success.

XXX is a top level custom object in Common contrainer which is related to Account object (not a child of)

It should be a standard behaviour.
