LastUpdateDate of Recurring Appointment Not Updated When Record Is Changed (Doc ID 2033064.1)

Goal

Using the LastUpdateDate of the Activity Find Web Service to determine if an Appointment is changed.
Looking at the Series Record and checking LastUpdateDate. Find that if any instance of the series is modified - the first time the LastUpdateDate field is updated.
However any consequent change and LastUpdateDate on the Series record is not updated.

After taking a closer look at this, it seems the LastUpdateDate is updated only on the parent "Series" Record (as would be expected).  

The ActivityUpdateDate is updated on all records - The parent Series "S" and child instance "I" records.  

This allows for you to see when an instance has been modified and when the parent Series Record has been modified. 


The Parent Series Record does not update the LastUpdateDate or the ActivityUpdateDate value when a child instance record "I" is modified EXCEPT on the first modification.
