Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Global Human Resources - Version 11.12.1.0.0 and later
Oracle Fusion Global Human Resources Cloud Service - Version 11.13.22.10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This note was created for Release 11.1.9.2.0. The note has been reviewed and is current for release 11.13.21.01.0.

Goal

This Note lists the extract BI and Payroll parameters that help with the performance of HCM Extract.

The goal is to map these parameter settings to the HCM runtime diagnostic so that when a user has issues with extract performance, you can easily identify which parameters are set by looking at the output of the runtime diagnostic.

The Runtime diagnostics show you the values of the parameters you have set, and the Design Diagnostics let you look at the ones you have set and determine if there are others you can set to optimize performance.

Example: If you have this parameter set "Split and Process large XML output Process configuration to enable BIP to split large XML output from Extracts unto multiple chunks to allow for parallel processing and large after processing", do you have to also set the Threads and Chunk Size parameters in the Manage Payroll Process Configuration user interface (UI).

Goal
Solution
 HCM Runtime Diagnostics
 1. Is Payroll Logging currently enabled?
 2. How many Threads are being used?
 3. Improve performance and use less storage by running baseline Extract
 4. Improve performance and use less storage by deleting archives
 5. Set the Payroll Processing Configuration Parameter "Use bind parameters use bind variables during action creation phase" to Y_ALL to Prevent Non-Payroll Extracts from Taking Too Much Time
 6. XML data chunking in high volume seeded extracts
 HCM Extract Design Diagnostics
 1. Enable Multi-threading on the extracts, use Threading DBI/Threading Type for root data group
 2. Snapshot too Old (ROLLBACK SEGMENT TOO SMALL)
 3. Minimize log messages in custom Fast Formulas
 4. Minimize Fast Formula function calls
 Other Runtime Performance Considerations
