We have identified 2000 contacts phone numbers that have been imported historically without purpose set to BUSINESS. What is happening here is a contact is searched for from Simple UI contact landing page. Within the list view, the contact's primary phone number is displayed. You then open the contact record and the primary phone number is displayed on the overview page. When you go to the detail page, the fields available are mobile phone and work phone. This primary phone number has no value for purpose, so does not appear here.
