Error message on trying to reset password

On : NA version, Workflow and Automation

The system is prompting the user to reset the password. But after entering the new password, user is unable to login. There is an error which is not informative of the issue.

New password ???  -- followed by some code

The issue can be reproduced only when the user is prompted to reset the password.
The user would need to key in a password which does not meet the password complexity & Submit. The error will be visible on resultant screen.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot login into SRM
