Scope

Before reading this document, it is recommended the user have good understanding of the Project Management application, however this document is informational and intended for any user.

The POBS Eraser tool is a 32-bit application and will only run on Windows 7 or later operating systems.  Attempting to run the Eraser tool on Windows XP (which is a 16-bit system) will result in the following error:

Not a valid Win32 application

Windows XP is an obsolete operating system, and there is no plan to create an XP-compatible 16-bit POBS Eraser tool.  For alternative methods to manually remove POBS data, see the workarounds provided in Doc ID 1967569.1 - Slow Performance During Project XER Import/Export in P6 Professional (POBS Table Has Grown in Size).

Caution: This document may contain information, software, products or services which are not supported by Oracle Support Services and are being provided ‘as is’ without warranty. Please refer to the following site for My Oracle Support Terms of Use: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25290_01/doc.60/e25224/preface.htm#MOSHP983.

Because the tool does not perform modifications to the P6 database, there is no need to secure a backup before usage.
