In Eloqua 9, when an HTML email contains CSS code, it will display the CSS code in the body of plain-text versions of the email. This code can be seen in plain-text versions of sent emails as well as in the Plain Text Editor view.

To reproduce this issue:

  1. In E9, navigate to Communicate > Email Marketing > Email > Upload HTML
  2. Follow the steps in the upload wizard.

  3. Once the email has been uploaded, open the email asset to edit it.
  4. Click ▼ and select Plain Text Editor
  5. Observe that the body of the email contains CSS code along with the desired text.
