Values selected in Outlook for Child Fixed choice list are not visible in Sales Cloud after synchronization (Doc ID 2071628.1)

Symptoms

Customer reported that a contact has 2 custom fixed choice lists (custom fields) defined. Both parent and child FCLs are populated in Outlook for the contact. But after synchronization, the contact does not show any values selected for the child FCL against the contact record.
