This document provides some tips on connecting BICS to a PDB in a 12c DBaaS instance.
The issue at hand is that BICS connects to databases via a SID. However starting in Oracle 12c databases, PDB (pluggable databases) will be common and it is normal to connect to them via a Service Name rather than a SID. For applications which do not allow you to connect via a Service Name, it is possible to log into DBaaS and enable it to use SIDs to connect to PDB’s.
This document provides instructions for creating a new pluggable database user and configuring the database listener to accept connections to pluggable databases using the Service Name as the SID.
