ERROR: CRMOD Update Contact External Call Failure - "No user key can be used for the Integration Component instance Contact"

External call to update contact in CRM On Demand (CRMOD) fails with an error similar to the following:

No user key can be used for the Integration Component instance Contact.(SBL-EAI-04397)


To reproduce the issue:

  1. Navigate to  > Platform Extensions : Integration > Outbound > External Calls > Send Data > Contact > Update Contact > Options > select Test External Call
  2. Search for a contact that failed the external call > click Execute Test
  3. Observe the error
Note: The exact path (particularly Send Data > Contact > Update Contact) will vary depending on the unique configuration of the instance. The external call will be whichever one is used to update contacts in the associated CRM.
