Deceased dependent still shows up on enrollment screen

Trying to process death of a dependent Life Event but  unable to end date a contact.
When adding the date of death for a dependent a Life event gets triggered and when processing this life event the deceased dependent still shows up.
Deceased dependent should not show up and hence trying to end date the relationship but cannot end date the relationship as it throws an error.
