After Express CPQ Renewals License Has Expired, Editing Opportunities Causes Error [Insufficient Privileges]

After Renewals license has expired on a Salesforce org and a user attempts to edit an Opportunity, the following error occurs.

Insufficient Privileges

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Ensure Renewals license has expired and/or has been deactivated by provisioning team
  2. Go to Opportunity
  3. Click Edit
  4. Change any value (this step is not necessary)
  5. Click Save

Due to this issue, users cannot modify Opportunities.
