Issue In Making Fields Conditionally Mandatory

Information in this document applies to any platform.
We have set a few custom fields to become conditionally updateable and required based on the value of field Type in Contact page.
In UI, we cannot see the fields becoming updateable & required or viceversa, based on the changes in Type field value. Why is this?
