Permanently Close Multiple Periods Doesn't Work Properly

Under Period Close for GL, when the oldest non permanently closed period is selected
It displays the following text 'This action is irreversible and permanently closes all periods up to this period. Do you want to continue?' which implies that multiple periods can be closed.
Try selecting a range using by clicking on the oldest period holding shift and clicking on the most recent period to make a range however the permanently close option is greyed out.
Do the opposite and select the most recent and then hold shift and select the oldest the the permanently close option is available.
It is also available if the most recent is selected then hold CTRL and select the oldest.
In summary, only selections that have the last selection clicked on the oldest non permanently closed period allow the "Permanently closed option"
It does not appear natural this was not the intended functionality.
Based on the pop up text, it is expected that a single selection of the latest period to be permanently closed would result in all periods before this to be permanently closed. Alternatively a selected range regardless of which one was selected last would also suffice.
