Configuration Rule BML Editor Responds Slowly in Chrome (Doc ID 2111524.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle BigMachines CPQ Cloud Service - Version 11.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When editing large BML Functions in supported versions of Chrome, certain situations will cause a delay in the editor's response. This can be seen by causing or removing validation errors when making changes to the function:

  1. Create a BML function with many lines of code.
  2. Access the function in Chrome.
  3. Remove a semicolon from one of the lines.
  4. Click Validate.
    • Validation will complete within a second but the editor will not be immediately responsive.

The time between the validation overlay disappearing and the function being editable appears to increase exponentially with the number of lines.

Additionally, the editor does not immediately render the removal of lines making it appear as if there are additional blank lines at the end of the code.
