You try to join Columns between Database SQL and Excel Data Sources as follows:
1. Create a New Data Model
2. Import an Excel Spread Sheet as a Data Source
3. Add a SQL Data Source that shares the same key as that of the Excel Data Source
4. In the Diagram Tab join the SQL DS with that of Excel
5. Click on View Data and you will notice that the results is doing a Cartesian join by returning all the rows in the SQL Data Source table(s).
