Symptoms

Manager approved goal plan from email still shows pending approval in Goal work area

One employee has submitted his goal changes and respective goal plan submitted to manager for approval.

Manager has approved the goal plan from email. The worklist task also shows as completed status, however Employee, Manager and even administrator from Administer worker Goal UI sees the status as pending approval.

seems like transaction is not committed successfully.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Step 1: Employee submitted goal changes in a goal plan.
Step 2: Manager appoved the goal plan from email.
Step 3: Verify BPM worklist and it shows task completed by
Step 4: Employee and Manager still sees pending approval for goals and now both are stuck
Step 5: same is verified from Administer Goal work area as pending goal plan
