Activity: Need to reduce the length of an attribute on a Dynamic LOV field (Doc ID 2130499.1)

Goal

Customer has created one custom dynamic LOV on Activity object, having Activity itself as source. The purpose of this is to tag previous activity reference on the new activity.

In this LOV field, customer has user subject field (i.e. also a custom field of type fixed LOV) as primary field and adding Owner, Account, Opportunity, Lead as additional fields in the search result set.

Fields are shown on search result perfectly. The issue is that in order to view these additional fields, customer has to scroll lot to right, because the length of subject field is very long.



Is there a way to reduce the length of subject attribute on result set?
