Error When Saving a Quote in Commerce ['$' is not a valid value for the menu: Attribute Name]
Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2017
Applies to:Oracle BigMachines CPQ Cloud Service - Version 2015 R1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
In commerce, after auto update runs and a modify type action is clicked, an error appears:
Line Item Errors:
'$' is not a valid value for the menu: Attribute Name
The error disappears when a Modify type action (either the same action taken previously or a new action) is clicked again. For clarity, the specific chain of events are:
- User open quotes.
- User updates a line item in the Line Item Grid or any type of attribute (both main doc or sub doc attribute) that can trigger auto update.
- Auto-Update runs.
- User clicks Save (Modify type action) and the error appears.
- User clicks Save again (or a different Modify type action) and the error disappears. The user is able to continue to quote.
An upgrade to 2015 R1 and newer occurred.
