Custom DCL not creating relationship with opportunity object (Doc ID 2137583.1)

On : 11.1.11.1.0 version, Opportunities

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
In Opportunities, customer has created DCLs to target Account, Lead and custom object Project records. Customer is not using Account field in Opportunity pages, but the DCL to Account. The same for Lead and Project. They have associated imported oppty records with custom DCLs.
When navigating to the related account, project, lead from an oppty, they do not see the related oppty associated.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Customer expects the opportunities to show up in the related account, lead, projects, even if they were related from the DCL fields and not the OOTB fields.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to imported Oppty. Click on the DCL targeting Account in the Oppty page, drilling down on the record.
2. This opens the related Account. Account has 0 related opportunities in Summary tiles.
3.Go to Account's Opportunity subtab. There is no opportunity related.

We also tried, in a sandbox, to create subtabs using the DCLs in Account edit pages. However, when navigating to the subtab page, nothing is shown.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot see relationship between Opportunities and related objects after import.
