Cannot Preview Assignments For Active Territories

Attempting to preview the Customer Assignment for a particular territory
Unable to run View Gaps and View Overlaps also.
A connection to server has failed. (status=504)
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to Desktop UI
2. Navigator - Territories
3. Search for Active Territories - right click - > select Preview Assignment
4. click on search
5. Search continue for 15-20 min and throws connection error
