We have created Business Units through the UI. This creates organization records with a Business Unit Classification. We need to be able to classify this Business Unit Organizations as Departments. That will enable us to store a Company and Cost Center values (via Manage Departments) to use in Oracle Fusion Subledger Accounting (SLA).
In prior release had a task called 'Manage Organizations' which is missing now in Release 11 (only Manage Departments remains).
I have been able to set the classification using the HCM Data Loader (HDL). Is this approach is OK (to classify a Business Unit Organization as a Department)? Additionally, please confirm whether it is possible to do the same via the applications UI?
(a) Does the Business Unit Organization need to be included in the Expenditure Organization Tree to be used in 'Expenditure Business Unit Company Segment' and 'Expenditure Business Unit Cost Center Segment' SLA Sources?
(b) How is the Expenditure Business Unit derived for an AP transaction; is it derived from the Expenditure Organization or is it simply the Business Unit organization that owns the invoice?
In SLA (specifically, when adjusting a Supplier Invoice in Projects) there are sources called "Expenditure Business Unit Company Segment" and "Expenditure Business Unit Cost Center Segment". How are these values derived when creating accounting for a supplier invoice that has been adjusted in Projects?
