Historical Pipeline Report Missing Opportunity Records Immediately Following A Snapshot

Sales Cloud, On Release 10 or higher

After setting up the "Generates Sales Historical Snapshots" task, the following issue is seen:
A report using the "Historical Pipeline" Subject Area with identical Criteria to a report using the live "CRM Pipeline" Subject Area aren't matching up immediately following a snapshot. Some opportunity records are not included in the historical snapshot data.

Why is this happening?


The snapshot tasks and processes have only recently been set up.
