Why Did Our Mobile Back End ID Number Change?

We created iOS and Android apps for a Mobile Back End on our Mobile Cloud Service system sometime back.They had been working fine up until recently. It appears that our Mobile Back End ID has changed from bxyz-5abc.. to bmno-efg.. and now we need to update our apps.

Why did our MBE ID change? What other events might cause the MBE ID to change? How do we prevent this from happening?

This is concerning because we intend to publish apps based on a specific MBE and we can't afford to have these apps stop functioning because the MBE ID has changed.
