Lead Conversion Fails Due To Required Fields On Contact & Account (Doc ID 2165900.1)

Goal

When testing lead conversion we were facing errors where converting a lead where no existing account or contact was associated to the lead.
we have an error only for create contact. We have Job Title Code as a required field. This is Out of the box Contact field.


We have tried the following with no success:
1. Create a trigger that populates this field Before Insert in Database with a value from the picklist. This works within UI when we remove the required status on field but still fails during lead conversion - the trigger must not function during conversion (like importing data does not trigger)
2. Tried to set field required within page composer on the create contact page. This is greyed out and not available for the field.
3. Reviewed the lead to opportunity conversion mapping but do not understand how to add a value to the contact record here. From testing it seems the contact is created before the opportunity.

Please advise Oracle recommendation on how to maintain required field on contact but allow for lead conversion mapping not to fail where no contact exists.
