Users experiencing this issue are using Microsoft Excel 2010 Version 14.0.7166.5000 (32 bit) (both MS Office Standard and Professional Plus).
When a user navigates to the opportunity summary page, and clicks the out of the box Export button, the file exported cannot be opened using Excel 2010. Instead the file does not open, and shows a blank instance of Excel (screenshot attached). This occurs in both Chrome (Version 51.0.2704.103 m) and Firefox (v. 47.0). The same problem occurs when attempting the same action from the Accounts page.
How to reproduce error
Navigator > Opportunities > Export > Save file > Open file.
Be able to export a file from the Opportunity summary page and be able to open the file on a users local machine using Excel 2010.
The user currently doesn't have OpenOffice or Excel 2016 installed on their machine, but they are potential workarounds.
Users need to be able to have a top level view of their opportunities, and analyse them in Excel.
