Recurring tasks are not supported in OSC for Outlook plugin (Doc ID 2168664.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 03, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud Service - Version 11.1.10.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.1.10.0.0 version, Microsoft Outlook

Customer reported that user has created recurring tasks in Outlook for daily meetings with his clients. These tasks are recurring on a daily or weekly basis. The tasks are correctly shown in Outlook. As the task is completed, user is marking them as completed in the right bottom section using Red completed flag. This removes the task from the list and the user can see a next upcoming task with the same name in the list.

However in Sales Cloud, on synchronization, we can see only one task with this name with the first completion date. In database, customer admin can see the task with the end date of the last completed task (e.g. from today if today's task was completed today). Since it is a recurring task, plugin seems to be getting confused on creating a new task in Sales Cloud with the same name as previous. Synchronization ends with the following error:
