Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When the "Schedule automatically when a change affects a date" scheduling option is selected and multiple projects are opened, a change in a single project results in all open projects to be automatically scheduled.

Note:
 - The time it takes for the automatic scheduling operation to complete can be perceived as a performance issue since all open projects are being scheduled even though only a change in a single project is made.
 - This performance degradation is compounded when latency is introduced into the connection between P6 Professional and Cloud Connect server.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
When the "Schedule automatically when a change affects a date" scheduling option is selected and multiple projects are opened, making a change in a single project should only trigger automatic scheduling to occur against the project where the change was made and not all projects which are opened (unless required) due to inter-project dependencies.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Open 5 projects
  2. Select Tools, Schedule
  3. Select Options (in scheduling window)

  6. Select File, Close all to close the 5 open projects
  7. Open one of the five projects
  8. Select Project, Activities
  9. Perform some action to initiate the auto-scheduling feature
  10. Note the time it takes to complete the task
  11. Browse to the Projects View
  12. Open all 5 of the projects (originally opened in step 1)
  13. Select Tools, Activities
  14. Complete the same action as step 9 to initiate the auto schedule feature
  15. Note the time it takes to complete the task
  16. Note the time difference between step 10 and step 15

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, the application can be perceived as unusable due to the performance degradation which occurs while the schedule operation completes.
