Renew And Escalate Approval Notifications

For Expense Approval, User unable to set the Renew Duration and the Escalate Duration at the same time.
When user give the duration for Renew for a certain time and then give the duration for Escalate - selecting the 'Highest Approver Title' as Manager, only Renew duration is getting Saved and Committed. User is able to save the Escalate duration only after removing the Renew duration. Can both Renew and Escalate duration work together ?
