Accessing The "Search" Tab In The OCCS Administration Interface Results In An Error: Could Not Retrieve Information on Index Fields

Accessing the "Search" tab in the OCCS Administration Interface results in an error modal appearing, and an error in the browser console log.
Due to the error, the guided search search configuration utilities are inaccessible.
This appears to happen most frequently in Chrome browsers.
The search service appears to be unavailable.
