HOW TO: Configure Properties to be Included in the Index but Excluded From Search
(Doc ID 2199033.1)
Last updated on JUNE 27, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Customers want to configure exactly what properties are searchable on an application.
For example: a customer may like end-user searches to match against only the terms in:
- product name
- product description
- part number
Everything else, including properties marked 'required', such as list price, should not be searchable.
Observed Configuration Functionality
The ability to search most properties appear to be controlled in the catalog.
However, certain properties on the Base Product ProductType such as list price cannot be manually configured.
Expected Configuration Functionality
Configuration options exist allowing all properties to be included or excluded from end-user searches.
Such configuration changes should not affect the response of the search endpoint, as the required properties (e.g., price) are used in the UI.
The features described herein are not available prior to OCCS 16.5.
