Images Do Not Display on Storefront; OCC Default "GenericSku" Image Appears Instead (Doc ID 2209947.1)

Symptoms

After uploading and publishing images to the storefront, one or more of the images do not show. Instead, the default OCC "Generic SKU" image shows. a similar example of this image is as follows:

When this happens, you may notice an HTTP "429" error in the browser console.

In addition, if any of the remaining images for a page do load, the loading tends to be very slow.
