Need to maintain flexibility for absence and time off requests
The business requirement is to not use work schedules by Employee as they have over 100 work schedules that vary widely between employees and even between weeks. A 40 hour/week employee could work 4-6 days/week and this could vary. We do not intend to maintain work schedules in the application but have set standard working hours to 40 for FTE purposes.

There are limitations with the standard working hours within absence and time and labor. It is only allowing an absence and time entry for 8 hours per day Monday-Friday. Using elapsed work schedules to override absence hours there is still a limitation in allowing absence and time off for an absence for 10 hour/day employees and weekend working employees. The need for flexibility to allow absence/time off 24x7 regardless of work schedule (knowing that employee will always be overriding total hours requests) is necessary.
The only known workaround is perhaps setting standard working hours to over 100 hours/week.
