Goal

Noticing the following Error intermittently even though there is no action happening on that record at that point of time - "You cannot lock this record because it is already locked by another user"
Also verified that there are no Object Workflows for field updates and also no object workflows scheduled to happen later.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Open an existing Opportunity and make some modification and click on Save (or) Save and Close
